July 2011: the Spanish hotel chain IBB Hotels continues its expansion in Europe.

The Cugo Gran IBB Hotel is to be opened in 2014 in San Clemente, located west of the airport on the Menorca Island. It will be a four star Boutique-Hotel, furnished in the Spanish style called “finca”, with 13 exclusive suites. The rooms may be reserved for weddings and such activities as Incentives and Events. The owner of the hotel is the Von der Heyden group, which is also responsible for the hotel’s development.

In 2013, the company plans to open an IBB hotel in Gdańsk. The luxurious four star hotel shall be located in the heart of the Old Town, next to the famous Long Market, within three historical tenement houses at the corner of the Mieszczańska street, right under the gaze of the stone statute of Neptune. The characteristic details on the building fronts shall remain true to the original ones, while the rooms will fulfill the most modern requirements. In total, 84 spacious rooms and suites shall be made available, and also a restaurant, banquet hall and an exclusive Fitness club. The Von der Heyden group is the owner of the hotel and the entity responsible for the hotel’s development.

Also in Germany, in cities with at least 100,000 residents, the IBB Hotels company is searching for four star hotels or construction plots to build four star Business Hotels and conference centers. Angel Llull Mancas, the Managing Director of the IBB hotels, puts emphasis on large cities: “apart from the metropolises, it is possible for our hotels to appear in B-class cities. There, however, we wish to have the best possible location in the city centre”. Angel Llull Mancas - Managing Director of IBB believes that the most important aspects are a high potential of business travelers, the surroundings that are attractive for the tourists and a good transport connection. Hotels or designs should include between 80 and 150 rooms. Apart from Germany, he focuses on those countries, in which there already are other hotels belonging to the IBB chain, i.e. Spain (the country itself as well as the Balearic Islands) and Poland.

The IBB hotels have their roots in the Leisure segment due to the company’s seasonal hotels located on the Balearic Islands. Angel Llull Mancas is consistent in following the plans for the strategic expansion of the group in order to service business travelers: “Thanks to our five hotels in Germany and Poland we are already present in the business hotels segment as well as the MICE segment. Our success gives us the right to continue our expansion in these areas. We will focus our attention on four star buildings of a very high quality.” We already have hotels in Germany – in Badenweiler, Erfurt and Passau. The hotel chain concentrates its activities both on the purchasing of buildings and plots as well as signing lease contracts and cooperation contracts. The Von der Heyden Group remains a trustworthy partner with the necessary capital and it also holds the majority of the shares in the group.
