After two years from the opening of IBB Erfurt Hotel in the heart of the old town in the capital of Thuringia, the IBB hotel group continues to expand in Germany. On July 1, 2008 the property in the Bavarian three-river city Passau which was managed before by Holiday Inn, was taken over by the international investment company Dawnay Day. Only one month afterwards the reknown hotel in the front of the main station opened its doors again.

The IBB Hotels group works efficiently to maintain high occupation level in the hotel, as well as to offer individual and guest-oriented service and the high quality standards. The IBB Hotel Passau is the second one of the several hotels planned in the Federal Republic.
Sven von der Heyden, chairman of the Von der Heyden Group and also the Managing President of the IBB Hotels Deutschland GmbH said to the conclusion of a contract: "We have developed an offensive growth plan for IBB Hotels, however we do not want to loose from our focus the parameters of reasonable management. With the IBB Hotel Passau we succeeded a further important step of the expansion in my homeland. IBB Hotels is the ideal partner for family-managed hotels which very often suffer from the successor problem. The IBB hotel Passau offers 129 comfortable rooms, the Restaurant König Ludwig, Bar Galeria, conference facilities with a capacity up to 300 persons and wellness area with swimming pool, sauna, relaxing room, pool bar and mini fitness studio. The IBB Hotel Passau is located in Passau, in front of the main station and only a few steps from the historical old part of town.
Information on the ibb Hotels
The IBB Hotels Hotel Group was founded in 1992 by Damian Llull with the purchase of 20 apartments in one of the bays in Menorca, the present location of the headquarters of the company. In 2002, Von der Heyden Group became by the continuous acquisition of shares the main shareholder of IBB Hotels. This fact has allowed to enter the Polish market, where the Von der Heyden Group has already had a well-established position as a real estate developer - and investor. Throughout the opening of IBB Grand Hotel Lublianka in Lublin, IBB Hotels was the first Spanish hotel chain operating in Poland.
Today, with around 10 hotels and projects in Germany, Spain and Poland, the company develops a further expansion plan for the pan-European market.
In Poland, besides the existing IBB Grand Hotel Lublinianka in Lublin and IBB Andersia Hotel in Poznan, next year opens the IBB Hotel Gdansk. In Spain, the company is involved in the development of golf hotel projects and SPA Hotels. The focus of the objects is on a 4-star de luxe standard.
