September 2009: The five-star Grandhotel Römerbad in Badenweiler in southern Baden (Markgräflerland region) has got a new owner. The Von der Heyden investment group buys the 76-room hotel from its previous owner, Karl-Heinz Berkner. Starting October, the hotel will be operated by the Spanish IBB Hotels chain that runs two other hotels in Germany - in Erfurt and Passau.

Angel Llull Mancas, the IBB Hotels CEO is overjoyed with the acquisition of the first 5-star hotel in the chain. He says, "Taking over Grandhotel Römerbad means taking over the best hotel in Badenweiler. We will continue the tradition and promise a 5-star service to all our clients. In the future we will focus on the hotel's congress and conference facilities."

The 5-star Grandhotel Römerbad in Badenweiler in Markgräflerland in southern Baden, built in 1823, is one of the greatest hotels in Baden as well as a historic building of great significance. Thanks to its location on top of a hill near Schlossplatz it enjoys a wonderful view of the old town of Baldenweiler.
