This month, we are delighted to introduce Ewa Słomczewska, our dynamic Revenue Manager for Poland at IBB Hotel Collection. Ewa’s journey with IBB Hotel Collection has been remarkable, showcasing her dedication, expertise, and passion for the hospitality industry. Let’s dive into her story and learn more about her role and experiences. 

Ewa’s academic foundation is solidly built on her passion for the tourism and hospitality industry. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Poznan University of Economics and Business, specializing in Tourism and Hotel Industry. To further hone her skills, she pursued a Master’s degree in Tourism and Hotel Management from the University of Physical Education in Poznan. 

Ewa’s journey with IBB Hotel Collection began in late 2010 when she joined as a Receptionist at the IBB Andersia Hotel in Poznan. Her dedication and talent were quickly recognized, leading to her promotion to Reservation Agent within a year. She then advanced to the role of Reservation and Revenue Specialist at the same property. 

Since 2019, Ewa has been serving as a Revenue Manager, focusing on the Polish market. Her responsibilities included managing properties in Poznan until 2022, and currently overseeing operations in Gdańsk and Lublin. Her role involves strategic planning and revenue management, ensuring the properties meet their financial goals while providing exceptional guest experiences. 

“For me personally, the positive work environment and atmosphere are extremely important and it is exactly this that has kept me working at IBB Hotel Collection for so long,” Ewa shares with a smile.  

Over the years, she has encountered many challenging moments, but the supportive team and collaborative environment have always made a difference. Ewa appreciates the independence, trust, and support she has received at various levels within the company. She has gained invaluable experience, developed numerous skills, and continuously strives to excel in her current role. 

When asked about IBB Hotel Collection’s core values, Ewa highlights respect, diversity, passion, teamwork, and constant improvement. These values are integral to the company’s culture and play a significant role in its success and growth. 

Ewa envisions a bright future for IBB Hotel Collection. “I think that in the coming years the group will develop and expand into other markets, offering unique and increasingly sophisticated services and products. Our properties will become more elegant and luxurious while maintaining a cozy atmosphere that provides guests with comfort, safety, and unforgettable experiences.” 

Ewa faces numerous challenges daily, ranging from system issues to market fluctuations and intense competition. However, she believes that the most challenging situation is always the one you are dealing with at the specific moment. Her approach is to stay adaptable, tackle problems head-on, and leverage her extensive experience to find effective solutions. 

Reflecting on the changes in the hospitality industry, Ewa notes the significant impact of the pandemic. “Over two years of pandemic changed the demand in the market I work in. Long-term and planned stays have turned into last-minute bookings for shorter periods. Now it seems more challenging to forecast and predict, as the booking window is significantly shorter than in former years.” Guests today are more discerning, placing a high value on good-quality service, sustainability, ecological solutions, and safety. With growing competition and new properties emerging, the challenge is to create unique atmospheres and memorable moments that make guests want to return. 

Outside of her professional life, Ewa enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She feels fortunate to have a close-knit group of friends with whom she travels and enjoys the tranquility of nature. To unwind, Ewa loves reading books that transport her to bygone eras. Additionally, she has a passion for drawing and sketching, and hopes to one day take a professional course to enhance her skills.
